Since Mike Soldano has decided to retire, the supply of SLO's has dried up. I have one now, but I wanted another. Can't find them anywhere new or used. Mike said as soon as he's done with his current inventory of parts, he is done. The company that makes the transformers are also stopping production. They are an aerospace company and only continued making the transformers for Soildano. Nows that he's done they are done as well.

So my main question is this. How much will these go up in value? I've heard several people say that they are the next "Dumbles". Thoughts?

I'm sorry, but not even in three thousand years.
    And I love the SLOs.

Geez, why can’t he sell the company? So that’s it? O.O.P. out of production?

    I’m disappointed.

That sucks, but I was resigned to modeling the SLO anyway.

How much will they go up in value? If only I could get tomorrow's news today...

I don't think they'll be dumble worth but certainly go up in value.

Great amps but doubt they'll become expensive collectors items ...

This is the company that bought DeYoung - major aerospace avionics manufacturer. Mike is still waiting on the last batch of 5 transformer sets from them and that's it and they are being dropped. And, "the guy" who winds them is out sick for a few weeks. The last batch of SLO's are at the mercy of this guy's health....LOL. I know, one of them is mine.

Any transformer can be taken down and copied... there is nothing magical about the contents of a deyoung transformer, its all about impedance ratios

Close... but different. Not as articulate at loud volumes. They do use the same wimpy chassis mounts that bend if you sneeze on them though.

According to TGP, a Mesa Recto is basically the exact same amp, so just buy one of those.
