I was looking to get a silicon base fuzz. I was looking for boutique stuff like the skreddy Lunar module mini dlx but the mini fuzz face by dunlop seems to be impresssive. For the price (more than half) you seem to get a solid sound. Should I wait to get more boutique stuff or it can do the job for Pink floyd or hendrix?

It'll do the job. But if you have patience to save or have the cash now, then I would get something better. Maybe a silicon SunFace.

You'll wind up getting a SunFace anyway so you might as well get one now :D

Mini FF Blue is a hellova little fuzz. Get a discount code and you can get it for $80 new.

My girlfriend is angry at me, because I sold mini red fuzz face :p "Argh, it was so cute!"

In sound terms, however, MXR 108 Classic Fuzz does it for me. And by it, I mean Hendrix and PF. You might add it to your shortlist. It is silicon, can cut the mix like a knife, and switchable buffer makes it wah friendly.

I tried the three minis, and the Hendrix and Germanium were my favorite. I bought the Hendrix Mini because I already had a great germ fuzz at home (Fulltone '69).

The Hendrix one is INCREDIBLE. I am not gas-ing for any boutique fuzz at the moment. I am gassing for the other 2 Dunlop minis. And I am boutique-inclined the vast majority of the times, so that says a lot.

I had the Silicon FFM and really liked it stacked with a TS. Andy from PGS does a demo of it and nails the Time solo by Pink Floyd. Check it out

My new Mini Hendrix FFM3 is a lot fun stacked into the Soul Food. Sounds like Neil Young playing Van Halens rig.

I had a little shoot out at the store with the red and blue. Both were very good, and I ended up leaving with the red. Unfortunately they had no Hendrix to try. I'll probably end up getting all three at some point.
