Minihums on a casino?

I saw a vintage ES-330 which had been modified ... ornate tuners, plus minihums and pickup rings instead of the expected dogear pickups.

A rather cool instrument, though I for sure would not have done that to old wood. But to new wood, maybe. Has anyone ever tried a pickup mod like this on an Epi Casino? How much woodworking would be involved?
