Anybody here have one of these? Let's see 'em! It's been a while since I've been active on the board.

In the Front Row, it's a GT, Roadster, and Mirage Custom. Still have them, and I love them!

I had a Duke Deville model but at the time I could not bond with it. Now that I've got a dual humbucker guitar, I kinda wish I still had the MJ as my second guitar.

Wow....that's literally the first negative thing I've ever heard said about any MJ Guitars. Now I know their Lifetime Warranty only applies to Original Owners/Purchasers, but for as long as I've known Mark Johnson, (and his family), he's gone overboard in the Customer Service side of things....at least for me.

I also remember seeing your Reviews of MJ Guitars from a few years back, (on TGP), about the 3 MJ's you had owned. I remember that you were really helpful for folks interested in buying them. I think they were all very positive, but that you had one issue with a mod that you tried IIRC, but I don't remember reading anything negative??? No worries though.

I've currently got 4 MJ's, (the 3 in the pic in my first post, and a Groovemaster). I've owned 3 of the 4 since 2005/2006, and in the 9-10 years I've owned them, I've not a single issue. I am however in a great Northern CA climate, which might speak to any neck issues you've had??? But since I don't know where you are regionally located, I'd assume you'd mention if you were in an area that you need to maintain any consistent climate control as to avoid any neck issues.

I had a custom for a while. It was a strikingly beautiful instrument. It played really well and sounded great too. I didn't like that adjusting the pickup height was a pain in the rear. But other than that, it was a really great guitar.

Man...I hate the "shouldn't have sold it" blues:) I've sang that song a few times. That was a cool one too!

I have owned a few in the past. Never had any issues, but they did not do much for me at all. Now if you are a gearhead and go through guitars or like to sell and trade you can expect to lose over 50 % on the used market. They are a tough resell on the used market.

Again never had any issues build wise. Not bashing

I like mine. They're light and comfortable to play, and have a sort of acoustic vibrance to them. I haven't had any trouble with them. Somehow I mostly grab my Strat and my PRS first though. I can't really say why. Maybe because they have straps on them... /jd

And with that pedalboard you must have very long legs.

Necro thread! Had to show my updated family photo. Both refinished, the one on the left has been with me the longest of any guitar and the one on the right I bought on TGP (was finished in black).

I've owned MJs for over a decade. I've since bought Strats, Teles, LPs, SGs and some oddities and they've all come and gone. I keep going back to my MJs.

It's true, resale is not good, well under 50% off the original price is usually accurate. But they just do it for me and make me want to play, and they've become synonymous with me with those who know me.

Awesome. I have 4 of Mark's guitars, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I had a custom Mirage and a Roadster that I got rid of. Sometimes I kick myself for doing that, but the custom was sold for financial reasons at the time and the Roadster wasn't the sound I was looking for.

    Though it did look cool!:[IMG]

The cream one in the middle was my custom one: [IMG]

Maybe someday a Catalina, and I think a mahogany Roadster with a Junior-type setup (single P-90 in bridge) would be great.
