The ultimate active pickup killer! Our new "Level Head" humbucker is the most balanced high gain passive humbucker period. Unlike anything ever heard before, we figured out how to perfectly balance the low strings with the high strings in volume and EQ. Smooth and balanced without any ice picky highs or mushy lows. And it looks like a normal humbucker!

The low wound strings are super tight and clear while the high unwound strings are full and fat sounding. Wound to that perfect sweet spot (not too hot, and not too weak) for amazing clarity and string definition that cuts through the mix. The oversized ceramic magnet gives the pickup incredible output, bite, and sustain that will handle any drop tunings with authority.

The pickup is installed so that the wound strings go over the adjustable flathead polepieces, and the un-wound strings go over the fixed slug polepieces. Vacuum potted coils and 4-conductor wiring. Coil tapped they sound amazing! Available in F-Spacing and different colors by request.

Here is an awesome candid review of our Mojotone WRHB Wide Range Humbuckers from one of our wonderful customers. He was so kind to let us use this. Thanks G!

Dear David Shepherd,

I investigated all forms of replacement “Fender Wide Range Humbuckers”.
There are six major contenders, five in the US and one in Britain. I discussed each model with factory reps. In doing this, I discovered one of the major bumps in price was embellishing the manufacturers name on the cover! The first reason I found to buy from Mojotone was coming to an understanding on what I needed to use to attain the tone I wanted.

Purchasing was easy and delivery was on time. I took my Fender Reissue Starcaster Semi-hollow guitar (yes, a reissue) to my shop and had the Mojotone WRHBs and a Mojotone modified ES335 wiring harness (new capacitors, 500k CTS, Switchcraft plug and three way) installed. It took longer than I wanted because business was up. Finally got it home and played it over my Carvin Nomad (EL84s), Carr Rambler (6L6s) and Crate Powerblock 150 (solid state).

Unprintable utterances, then, “WOW!!!” The pickups were bold, but not strident, with a ringing sustain, well-rounded articulate notes and an open, yet defined acoustic tone. Also, there is an even balance of bass to treble! Well suited to my taste!

Note to the masses: There are 20 screw adjustments to set tone for a WRHB pickup. You can fine-tune the tone for your individual playing style and type of guitar and amp. Trust me it was a joy! I am a cleaner player who occasionally breaks into overdrive and it’s all about the tone for me. The original Fender WRHB pickups can be referenced as adjustable for volume, but having a sterile tone. (Look elsewhere to see how they are put together)

The Starcaster semi-hollow is a dream of a beginning for tone development. The reissue has wood added down the center and a new joining of the neck, great sound improvements! The new TOM style bridge may broaden the tone a bit. With the Mojotone additions, now I can control the new sound beautifully – nice acoustic volume swells and a sweet roll off of treble with the volume control. I don’t use the tone controls nearly as much as some people. And, I don’t use my fingers as much as my pick, but that is changing with these pickups; the sound is just too good to waste.

The videos on Mojotone’s Internet site are worthy, but as with any sound it changes through Ethernet, mics, speakers, and computers and cannot be compared to your equipment. There are just too many variables. But, in choosing Mojotone, those videos were very helpful. Tone is like a faith-based thing, always there, changing a bit, but never complete – we are human. When you find another person who can share that language, then decisions are easier. So… my thanks to you, David Shepherd, and to Mojotone!

Now, back to playing toneful guitar!

Yours truly,

G. Case

For the entire month of March, we are offering free shipping on our P-90 Clone pickups! It's the pickup of the month!

Faithful to the original 50's era P-90 using a blend of Alnico magnets and vintage spec plain enamel wire. The originals always varied on magnet grades with Alnico 2,3,4, or 5. We took the best sounding examples from the 50's and recreated the ultimate neck and bridge combo. Alnico 3 for the neck pickup and Alnico 4 for the bridge pickup. The neck pickup has that sweetness and clarity that you hear on the best vintage examples while the bridge pickup has that nice bright mid range grind with rich overtones that nail the best vintage bridge pickup examples form the 50's. Vacuum potted coils.

Rene Martinez is one of the most famous guitar techs on the planet. He is known from his days as the main tech and best friend of the one and only Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan :bow. I've been blessed to work beside such a great friend and mentor to design incredible sounding pickups that uphold his high standards.

For the entire month of May, we are selling these amazing signature Rene Martinez Lipstick Strat pickups for $160 per set! That's $80 off the regular price of $240! On top of that we are throwing in FREE SHIPPING in the continental US!

Rene's new lipstick pickups offer a full crisp tone with plenty of clarity. These handwound single coil pickups, made to Rene's specs, recreate the tone of the 1984 SRV lipstick guitar. This unique product is a Mojo original. They easily retrofit into standard strat style guitars and will wow you with their tone and style. Vacuum potted coils.

A Mojotone original design, the all new Two Face Strat and Tele pickups are unlike anything ever heard before. Most typical Strat and Tele pickups lack girth and attack when it comes to heavier distortion, especially on the low strings. We designed these pickups to combat that issue without losing focus on the clean and chimey tones as well.

Like a Gibson P-90 pickup and a Fender single coil pickup all in one, they use adjustable polepieces with bar magnets for the wound bass strings, and Alnico rod magnets for the unwound treble strings. Hence the name "Two-Face".

The result is a snappy and clear bell tone, with a slightly scooped midrange on the unwound treble strings, and a smooth upper midrange growl, with super tight low end punch on the lower wound bass strings. This actually makes a more balanced sound between the wound and unwound strings. Equalized if you will.

You wouldn't believe how versatile and balanced these pickups are. From clean to mean, and everything in between, you won't be disappointed. Fully vacuum potted coils.
