Well, it was molested by Neal Schon and has some history to it...that being said, I'll pass.
I think he wrecked a very nice, very old Strat.
Early '80s, guys. I bought a '60 strat for $300. They weren't that special at the time.
I am a big Neal fan. Still, 100k is pretty steep.
His stuff goes way to high.
That said I'd love to have it.
Who is Neal Schon?
Click the link to the guitar in the first post and your question will be answered.
He'd rather pretend to be one of the "too cool" guys.
My guess is that it would have been worth 100k unmolested with it's provenance.
I got ripped off...I paid $600 for my '60 at Norm's Rare Guitars in 1981 ...when I sold it back to him in '87 for $1200, I thought I pulled one over on him.
Wasn't this the guitar used on "Lighrs"?
Wonder why he's selling it? Divorce, bankruptcy? Bad investments?
He goes through a ton of gear.
purges stuff often.
Sounds like a great guitar, but wow.
A like thread is running on The Sound Lounge just in case any of you guys wanna get a jump on and fast forward this thread....
I don't think Neal is hurting for cash. Between all the Journey money and the company he owns with Herbie Herbert (Nocturne), he can make it faster than he can spend it.
I've got a "molested" '65 Strat I'll sell you for half of that!!!
