Selling my Monoprice 5 watt, 1x8 combo. It's basically a Champ type amp. Supposedly a rebranded Laney Cub 8. It's a 12ax7 in the preamp, a 6v6 poweramp, solid-state rectifier. Speaker is the stock Celestion, tubes are stock Rubys. Very compact and portable. Two input jacks, high and low, single tone knob, and a volume knob. Includes original box and paperwork. Side seams show some glue/seam, see side pic.

    $120 shipped/paypaled.

How would you describe the tone as-is? I know different mods can always be done, but is it a decent little thing all stock?

It honestly is a decent tone completely stock. With the stock speaker and tubes, you can get breakup fairly easily. Or you can sub in a lower gain preamp tube (speaker too) for more headroom, etc. It's kinda similar to the Fender Champion 600 in terms of both size and power...yet the Monoprice has a tone knob, an 8" speaker instead of 6" and a speaker out jack on the back which makes it easy to use as a head into other cabinets. There's a good thread about it at another forum here: http://www.tdpri.com/threads/monoprice-5-watt-tube-combo.590580/
