    Clear skies, gas in the tank, up to speed, lets roll:

    Enough of those plains, lets hit the hills:

    Damn smoke from the Canadian fire is killing a little bit of the view;

    [IMG]

    Clearing up again, oooh a lake!

    [IMG]

    No one on the road, time to hit the hammer

    Hill assent

    Okay, it got kind twisty after that and I needed full concentration.

    Like to say I'm a bit jealous, but no. Enjoy your road trip!

    Nice! I'll be headed your way in a few weeks. I'll be camping in Glacier NP for the first week of July.

    Beautiful country, are you driving the whole way or flying in? If you are driving up from Colorado, you can take this route I just posted on your way north out of Billings toward Great Falls, I think it is really worth the drive.

    Basically head north out of Billings toward Lavina, then West to Harlowtown, then instead of going north to Judith Gap, keep heading west toward White Sulfur Springs, about 3 miles from While Sulfur you head North toward Niehart then you will connect back up with the road toward Great Falls. It is about 15 miles longer (I think) but well worth the drive.

    Multi-tasking!

    You can see the photographer's shoulder in the rear view mirror of one of the pictures.

    One of my favorite places ever. Hitchhiked through it once from the west to east side. I've also drove through it west to east too. West Montana is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been to, especially this time of year.

    I have some good memories of the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale that I went to when I hitchhiked through. It's a long story. The Miles City Bucking Horse Sale is coming up, now that I think about it.

    I grew up in ND. Montana, especially in the east, makes ND seem urban. As you can see in the pics, no cars anywhere on the roads. I'd have no issues having someone crawl in my lap for a ....'picture' while driving.
