    Hi all!

Got my GE200 several weeks ago, and have been messing around with it in my home studio. I've been having fun learning it and tweaking, and trying to recreate the tones I tend to use most. In the process, I was looking around at various GE200 demos, and noticed that most of them are focused on very high gain, chugga-chugga type sounds. The unit does those well, but what else does it do? So I thought I'd record some of my mid-gain tones.

Somewhere along the way, I figured, "Why not see if it can do a passable Brown Sound?" So I worked on it for a few days over the past week, and here's what I came up with. I intentionally limited myself to only using the cabinet sims that came with the unit -- no third party IR's.

This was recorded direct from the Mooer, into my interface and into GarageBand.

Could you post a small bit of that recording without the original running along?

Hehe, I am deaf on one ear, so first I thought the guitar was a bit low in the mix, so I tried flipping my headphones and voilá - nothing but guitar in the left can :)

I'll have to post that a little later. But for now, if you just listen to the one channel, it's all guitar panned one direction, and the recording to the other. But yes, I can post a clip later. I have some other mid-gain tones to record as well.

Yeah, I probably should have explained that ahead of time. Sorry!

The guitar is panned completely to one side, and the original is the other way. I mixed the guitar a touch loud so that folks could clearly hear the tone.

Well, it was nice for me since it gave me an easy way to listen to the raw guitar tone :)

That sounds really good IMO. I'm still curious to how it might sound with different IRs.

Yeah great job, very well played, you and me know the GE200 rocks and it looks like it's made to produce a "brown sound" kinda tone just like my Loudness tone I posted last week:

As I really liked the Van Halen tone you've got here (very nice playing too, btw), I'd be all interested in the things you're getting out of the thing. Personally, I wouldn't mind some tones with even less gain, something like between breaking up and crunch, suitable for, hm, let's say some harder funky chords or something (good bluesy sounds usually do quite well for that style, too). These are the sounds I haven't heard at all from the unit so far.
I still think it won't be for me (due to the on unit editing issues I described in the other thread), but in case it could really nail some tones I need like pretty much every day (see above), I could again be sort of tempted.

No, let's hear some clean tones with a hint of breakup as well. I must say that Brown Tone showed promise!

Oh wow that's a great sound, can you elaborate on how you got that?
Better yet, hit the Export button in Mooer Studio and share the tone! :)
