Mr. Magic Backing Track
nice Cm11 | F7 vamp.
although, it's interesting that you chose to play in C# over this progression.
is it because of the discrepancy with tuning to the original track?
oh well, i'm probably just going deaf...hell, i know i am.
It sounded to me like the Bass was in C# and the rhodes was closer to C, and I always go with the bass. I might be tone-deaf today though - i have days like that
I enjoyed the tension from the tuning actually.
thougt the playing was hip too...but I KNOW I'm going deeeeeeeeeef.
Funny, i did too
I'm not sure about the tuning either but I wil definitely steal some licks from you on this tune.
Nice feel and ideas! Can hear your jazz influences for sure.
I LOVED Grovers version of "Take 5" as well. What a great tune.
I am going to steal this backing and give it a whirl too. Thanks for posting it!
Thanks!! I can't wait to hear yours! Man is it fun to jam with Andy Newmark & Phil Upchurch
Very cool backing, Ant. I thought your approach was pretty cool, but I create enough tension with my clams that I figured C# might be a bad idea for me.
My Mr Magic Massacre
Strat -> Pignose G60VR
Killer take!!!! KIller tone too!
Really nice lines Ant! Really bad tuning! LOL!
Loved the whole flow.... Great playing.
I'll try and record something by tomorrow night.
Great tone and touch Norm! Well done dude.
Excellent Ed! Loved the beginning section. Nice and dynamic. Then the fury! Some really killer bits in there.
Nice playing Normster. I like the relaxed feel.
I liked how you started off tenderly and then built up into a frenetic maelstrom..
I did this at 7:30 this morning.... Bathrobe and all.
I had time for one take so be gentle.
Agreed! Really nice laid back feel Normster. Nice confident playing.
Nice creative playing Scotch! Way to avoid the cliches which is hard to do in that type of vamp. (I would be playing every one known to mankind. )
Why does the thought of that sight make me feel nauseous?
