    Hey guys,
So I'm currently trying to decide on whether to get the Morgan AC20 Deluxe or the Morgan 30/800.

Basically what I'm looking for here is the most bang for my buck.

    1. Does the 30/800 clean up as well as the AC20?
    2. Is the 30/800 basically an AC20 + Marshall?
    3. How dirty can the AC20 get?
    3. Which one do you prefer, and WHY?
    4. What can one amp do that the other can't? Similarities vs. Differences.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I haven't played a 30/800, but I own an AC Deluxe and it can get pretty dirty. I've never felt the need for more gain. The EF86 is awesome.

I ordered an ac20 deluxe but the clips and youtube demos of the 30/800 sound sick too. It isn't something I would need for what I'm doing right now but could be a future option.

the 30/800 really can sound like a Marshall JCM800.. and it has a sweet voxy tone also....

If you need a real marshall gain then the 30800 is the way to go.

I'm sure the AC20 can get close with the right pedal, like a cmatmods Brownie.

Call and talk to Joe Morgan, he'll steer you in the right direction.

The 30/800 I had was a nice amp. It was somewhat Voxy, yet, not enough for me. The gain was, ultimately, not to my liking. I kept wanting Marshallererierer. My old Tophat CR from '97 did this better.
It had a great backbone, but, it did not address the beautiful/more complex, singing midrange that I craved.

    Fun amp though.
