I'm finally looking to put in my order tomorrow evening for an amazing Morgan amp. My options right now are the Dual40 or the AC40deluxe.

I don't channel switch, i do run pedals. i don't see too many dual's out there, whether it be 20s or 40s. Seems like plenty of people are happy with the versatality of the deluxe alone?

So...Do i really need to spend the extra dough for the dual40 or will the versatality of the deluxe do it for me?

    what say you?

First question you must ask your self is if you prefer Top boost, normal or both channel on your typical Vox amp. If you play both, Dual40 is the answer. If you usually use normal, ac40 deluxe will do.

Second question you must ask your self is the importance of high/mid/bass control on amp. If that's important Dual 40 and if not AC40.

Also, Dual series usually only come with bigger head where as AC series comes in a smaller box if that matters to you.

I had AC20 Deluxe and now have the Dual20. Love them both. Here is the pix.

I've got a Dual 20 and I love having the TB channel and the EF86 channel. The top boost channel is really flexible with the EQ and the EF86 channel has its own sound that is awesome. Therefore, I would recommend the Dual 40.

This is what I was gonna write too... I love my dual 20 and am pretty sure I'd regret not having both channels. YMMV!

Does anyone know if the duals come stock with the channel/master volume setup that the AC Deluxe's have? The pictures don't seem to show it that way but the picture above does.

This would mean the only difference between the normal channel of the dual and the deluxe is the bright switch?

The Dual 20 has a power scaling knob that affects both channels. No master volume.

I'm a normal channel AC guy, so the Dual would be overkill for me.

Can you not get a Top Boost channel sound with an AC20 deluxe? I thought the AC20 deluxe covers all grounds?
