I took my R9 to an excellent tech last week over an issue which turned out to be a poor set of new strings .......surprisingly. The tech said he did not recommend Ernie Ball 10 gauges at all and in his opinion ( he is a master luthier) EB string making standards had slipped and he would look elsewhere.

He said D`addario were consistently high standard , what strings do you lot find to be consistently of good standard ?

Boomers 10's are usually good for consistency!

Oil Of The Snake are what I prefer, the Original Nickel Sets. I've moved to JTMB guage sets for most of my guitars.

Another vote for D'Addario. I repairs guitars for a living and D'Addario electric guitar strings are what I recommend to all my customers. They're economical, consistent and sound great:AOK

D'Addarios for me too... took a whirl with the Snake Oil strings, DRs and the like... keep coming back to the D'Addarios for consistency, tension and tone.

Snake Oils - Original Nickels. I prefer the Slithery variety on Strats, regular on Gibson scale lengths.

    Best, Pete.

D'Addarios here. I had some bad luck with Ernie Ball's a few times and I'm done with 'em. Snake oils, huh? I remember reading a little something around here. Mmmm...

S.I.T. powerwounds. Used them for years with graph-tech saddles, very pleased.

Hmm, no one's mentioned Everlys yet? Been using the B52s for several years now after having tried about everything else out there in the last 43 years.
They just feel and sound right, and last longer than most in my experience.
