From time to time I get fed up with all that vintage hype. I have an original 1980-81 Ibanez TS-808 and a Boss DM-2 and to be quite honest, I'll take the OCD and the Replica any day over the old timers... different strokes for different folks I guess.

    What's your take?

Havin' a bad day are we? My take is if we bought and chose stuff blindfolded, we'd all have more money in the bank.

    None of the above, IMO.

My choice is the Fulltone Fulldrive 2.

we are talking most over rated here right? i'd say the keeley BD2. i love his stuff, but i've bought and sold three of these cause people rave over them, and everytime i get ticked off.... i guess if we're going vintage stuff than i would have to say the 808. I played a REAL old one once that i loved at first, and than started to listen to the loose flabby dynamics that it had, compared it to a stock TS9 and my keeley 808, and never gassed for teh vintage ibanez again.

Just couldn't bond with it. Something about it just wasn't right to my ears and it got nothin' but rave reviews.

Just bought one the new blue MOSET ones and LOVE IT! :D

Well, I am still keeping the OCD v3 and Fat boost 2 in front on my board as I am quite happy with that setup. Not sure the FD2 will beat that combo.

    There are may over-rated pedals.

The ones that come to mind right now are the Skreddy Echo and Landgraff LDO. Yes, I said Skreddy Echo.

I would have to say the Klon. It's a nice pedal but not the be-all/end-all and definitely not worth the prices they go for.

Sold one for 50 bucks and gave the other one away...(this is before ebay)
Althought I also think any "digilog" pedal is overrated by definition.
Actually all those pedals are yucky.

I'm with you. I think it sounded dull and dark. Recently I built a little (very simple) device for measuring input impedance, and tested a bunch of pedals and the BP measured a very small 170 ohms. It was the lowest of all my OD's and though it has a very small output impedance...I wondered if this was part of the problem.

But my choice for MOST overrated is the Boss RT-20.
Just didn't make it for me.

The PPF was too bright for me. That and it was like, almost a fuzz, but not quite? But I guess that was the beauty for some people.

I like my phase 90 BUT it distorts too easily, so it doesnt get used that much, which is bad cus i do like the sound.

For me it was the Zendrive. Good pedal, but the way people were raving about them (when they were unavailable, of course) you would think that it was the end all. I sold mine within the week.

Snip the resistor labeled R28, it will lessen the distortion. You can always re-solder it if you want to go back.
