I've tried the Timmy and RC Booster as well as a slew of other pedals and for the most part I can't stand how these pedals mess with the high end frequencies of my signal. If one wanted simply a very transparent, very light OD or boost, what else might you reccomend?

How about one of the single knobber boosts?

(Nick Greer sonic boom, bad bob, keeley katana, mxr microamp)

    Or maybe a volume pedal?

The Timmy is the most transparent OD I know.

Isn't the Antelope Love Light supposed to be real transparent?

The Cream Pie is probably the lightest OD I have played, it left my tone alone and just added a hair here and there.

i've been on the look out for the same thing. the closet i have found was a Barber LTD -SR. i can hear the slightest dip in the mids....very slight.

a Rocktron austin gold is VERY light od, too light. but a very transparent booster thats when maxed out adds the slightest bit of hair. its very cheap too.

Let me know what you find.

Do you want OD or Boost?

The Seymour Duncan pickup Booster is very transparent if all you want is db.

Give the Keeley Katana a shot, can be used as a clean boost with the knob pushed in and a light od with the knob pulled out. gives your tone that nice Keeley sparkle, if you're into that. great as a solo boost as well.

I'm in love with my DIY Bluesbreaker clone. The best part is it cost me about $30 to build, but stands up against anything 5x that any day.

    Cheers,

I love the Gaspedals Carb - not completely transparent, but subtle, and I love what it does. Plays well with other pedals as well. You may also want to check out the BJF Sea Blue EQ - adds a subtle little extra somthing, and because it's an EQ, you can talor-make that something to best match your needs and your existing gear.

    Happy hunting,

    Edward

I find the RC Booster to be very transparent with my setup, but you should also check out the Menatone Red Snapper.

I agree on the Antelope lovelight. Just brought one home to try and it is very cool! So cool I am selling my 2nd try RC booster.

Overdrive-wise, I'm pretty impressed with the LTD SR. With the ability to trim the sound a little, it's well worth looking into. It's also reasonably priced.

I really like the BJF Red Rooster Booster; I do not hear it messing with tone at all. Great pedal...

Another to consider is the DGTM from TC Jaugernig. It's basically a TS, but there is an LED clipping option that is really wide open and is a great low gain OD for no added color. It is awesome for that!

The "King of Tone" by Analogman is my favorite of all the lighter od's Ive tried. Here's my list, Sexdrive, RC Booster, Tim, Klon, Fulldrive, Eternity and some others I can't remember.
