hello. i'm building a new guitar, and it is a single-single-humbucker rear-routed strat.

i put a mounting ring on the guitar for the humbucker, and am now wondering how to mount the single coils?

Hamer used brass threaded inserts (most hardware stores have them) in #4-40 size. You drill the cavity bottom and screw the inserts into the body, then mount the pickups with #4-40 screws and springs.

Allparts sells a mounting ring for Strat-size singles. You could also use P-bass pickup screws and just go into the wood.

I think you mean top-routed pups with no pickguard (?).
    My quick and sloppy method:
-long skinny screws through the pup mounting holes, don't use the thread of the hole, if any, and a with lump of foam inserted under the pup for tension. Dark stuff looks better- trim well

here's an image of the body. the guitar is almost completely ready, except for a few VERY minor things (black screws, lol). [IMG]
