I haven't studied formal theory for 30+ years and my textbooks are long gone. What series of books can you recommend me? Keyboard based is fine, and actually preferred over a guitar based system.

Mark Levine's "The Jazz Theory Book" is very solid for improvisation-based theory.

I agree about Levine's book, but what specifically are you looking for theory-wise?

That would help refine the answers.

Kostka's Tonal Harmony is a staple in the Classical world. You could probably find an older edition for pretty cheap.
