Musician's Friend shipped wrong color guitar: What to do?

    I have been wanted an Orange Gretsch 5120 for a while. One popped up on MF that had been returned, so instead of $750, it was marked at $479. Super deal!

    However, when it arrived, it is sunburst, not orange. Dangit! I am fixated on having orange...it just has more retro, cadillac with tailfins and chrome vibe.

    Send it back? Should they honor the super discount if I re-order an orange one?? How easy is their 45-day return policy?

    Nobody makes exchanges/returns easier than MF. Just call them.

    Call them. MF is usually very good about returns and exchanges.

    Post your complaint on the internet, hope they stumble upon it, cross your fingers and wait patiently for a new guitar to arrive in the mail.



    Or just call them...

    They may even ship you an orange one as part of their stellar customer service.

    Let us know what they say/do....

    Thanks, I do see that they have a simple return policy.

    My question was more along the lines of: is it stupid to be so picky about a color choice that I give up a great deal?

    They'll honor the deal. They have the best friggin customer service I've ever experienced. They have to do that, there is lots of competition for your guitar weenie dollar.

    In my experience it will nag you for the rest of your days. Get the color you want!

    If color didn't matter, they would only sell them in one color. You are not being picky at all.

    I'll tell you what not to do--play the guitar. You might wind up liking it too much to send back, or if you do exchange it, always be thinking about how much better it played than the orange one you wound up with.

    Exactly. Call them and tell them you want what you ordered. If the salesperson is no help, ask for a manager. You might get a new 5120 instead, an upgrade.

    Call them and ask for a discount or another guitar for the same price for me!!!!!
    Same color as yours btw.

    Send it back and get the orange one. I have 5120 in orange and it is beautiful. You will not regret holding out for orange!!

    Update: MF made it right.

    They sent a prepaid return label, and already shipped a replacement 5120 in Orange!

    Just a few more days, I can wait that long.

    PS--I did play the sunburst one. It was great, but I know myself and it would always bug me so...orange it is.
