Why are you using a 200ma choke?

    The Mercury like you ordered.
When I saw your post I thought you
    just bought a random choke,
but with the Mercury I understand
    why its larger.
    No worries.

is my underatanding correct here? the smaller the 5h or even 3.3 would lend to break up earlier than 8h choke i have chosen?

I was referring to the current handling, not hry's.
Its not a matter of breakup, its a matter
    of filtering.
You could use a 3hry choke with no problems,
and even a 20hry choke if you wanted to.
The choke in a Plexi power supply is only
filtering the low level circuitry (preamp+screen supplies).
    Not a big demand here.
I did recomend you run with the Mercury trannys,
and I'm glad to see you did.
Your set is a clone of exactly what you're wanting to build.
