I just plugged into my Morgan AC20 Deluxe today after weeks of solely playing through my new Mesa Boogie Lonestar Classic and WOW I'd almost forgotten how amazing this amp is! It's got the most amazing, 3D cleans and chimey edge-of-breakup tones that I've ever heard in an amp...I count myself extremely fortunate to own it and the Lonestar. Amazing cleans and drive on both amps...any other AC20 owners feel this way?

Don't own one yet but it'll be my next real purchase this year and I have high hopes.

Which speakers help create those amazing tones?

I sometimes play through a 1x12 Morgan cab with a 25 Watt ASW Absolute, though recently mostly have been playing through a 1x12 Mesa Boogie cab with a 90 Watt Black Shadow...surprisingly good speaker for many different amps.

those voxy amps will sneak up on your for sure. to me, it's like the fun sporty car that only gets driven on sunny days - yeah the 4 door sedan gets more mileage but you remember those sports car drives more!

    Pro Reverb - Caddy
    Harvard - Mustang GT
CD18 - chopped down hot rod

I bought an RV35 a month ago, so I've been having tons of fun with that, but I recently was playing and just for kicks plugged back in to my AC20 Dlx and was super happy with the sound that was coming out.

Using both of them together stereo for the first time with the Timeline and Space this weekend. Dual delay on the Timeline set to run in parallel with just a touch of overdrive in a Morgan stereo rig=fantastic.

Great lil amps for sure! I almost bought one over my recent Mesa Lonestar Special, but I liked the Mesa just a bit better.

I'll end up purchasing one eventually though!

Yup... I LOVE mine. I could spend the rest of my life with just this amp, and be happy. That said, I still want and RV35 someday... and maybe a TR19... Lol.

I am considering both the Mesa LSC and a Morgan AC20 Deluxe. A question - does the lack of a tone stack (treb, bass, mid) limit your tone adjustment with the Morgan? I have never owned an amp that didn't have a full set of tone adjustments.

I find that all the EQ adjustments I need can be accomplished via a combination of the Brilliant switch, Bright switch, and the Cut knob.

I for one am surprised to see Morgan AC20 love associated with the Mesa Lonestar Special. Don't get me wrong, the mesa has a lot of upside, but I was imagining the Morgan as being much closer to an old Vox AC style amp than a Mesa style tone...and I just haven't really thought of the LS as an AC style amp despite the tube compliment...

Yeah, the Mesa LSS was not really a Vox type amp at all. The Morgan is definitely very Vox like of course (I own a few AC30s) and was more chimey/jangley, while the Mesa was fuller and tighter sounding. Not really that similar, they just happened to be the two amps I was considering.
