So I finally got my ultimate dream guitar finished, and I couldn't be happier. It's a Warmoth ash body and maple neck. I carved my last name into the body, in case you were wondering what it said! Don't judge, I wanted to be sure I would never be tempted to sell it, and it wanted it to look totally custom. The incredible metal flake finish is the work of Marty Bell, who was very patient and brave, having never painted flake on a body with cuts this deep before. Yes, the entire guitar is metal flake, even the fretboard!

The neck is a Gibson conversion scale, as I've been used to playing LPs the last several years. The pickups are Lollar Imperials. Bridge is a Gotoh 510. Wilkinson roller nut, Hipshot locking 18:1 tuners. Guitar was set up in Cincinnati by Chris Sisson of Restoration Guitar, and damn, it plays and sounds incredible, even better than I hoped.

I'll be taking it out under the lights for the first time this Thursday night. Can't wait!

Certainly makes a statement. Must've taken some work to get the fingerboard to feel like a fingerboard of a guitar. Well done.

Marty Bell insists on a neck with the highest frets possible, and it has to be maple. Honestly, it feels like any maple Fender fretboard with a lacquer finish. The hardest part is seeing the tiny black side fret markets amidst all the bling!

Thanks. Definitely unapologetic! I’ve been customizing and carving bodies for years, but like the one in my avatar, I’ve sold them all (over 150). On stage I use a white Les Paul Custom and a Gibson ES-137, so I’m normally pretty conservative. Just felt like going over the top for myself for once!

Only a sick, deranged individual could come up with something so........beautiful. Would only change one thing (I'm sure you're aching to hear this :)): larger lozenge-shaped side markers.
