I wondered if I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. It looks like playing that guitar would make you bleed, which is kind of mojo, no?
Also, how is it "relicing" if you just chip the edges a little? And leave the chatter from the router on the pick guard. Otherwise it looks like a brand new guitar that someone didn't take care of?

I was more interested in the spacing on the tuners from the edges of the headstock...look at the shots of the back of the headstock...?

Legitimate question—what am I missing about his pickguard shape concepts? The one that guy that's really into Echopark posted had a pickguard that didn't clear the P90 tab—this one clears it to an unnecessary extent. Are these supposed to be that way based on some nostalgic designs? Or maybe it's the same pickguard shape regardless of being a dogear or soapbar style pickup? It seems like it must be on purpose but I don't get the design.

I think it's just a one size fits all approach. The only problem is that the one size doesn't seem to quite fit anything all that well.

All the pictures seem to show the A string touching the wound E on the tuner post?

Nah. Each one is meticulously cut by hand by the world's greatest guitar craftsman as that final layer of incredible tone, feel, and look for which Echopark is a beacon of design and engineering and execution ingenuity.

I suspect that's probably the answer, but just funny it doesn't seem to work right on either—like if that was the move, he could have just made it big enough to clear both since it's gonna look too big on the soapbars either way. It's also funny how they're touted as handmade and one of the simplest elements of the whole design is so non-custom.

In all fairness we used a similar plate from Hipshot with a lip that sat proud of the body. I liked them and it made the assembly process a little more forgiving which.. isn't a bad thing ;)

    I’d respect that on a Kauer. \m/

While we are in agreement about EP's poor quality, this falls into arbitrary bashing not based on facts. Just sayin'.

@scottcw fair point. Plenty of other “attention to detail” items to highlight
