    Now with Pics!!!!

I was able to swing by FedEx and pick up my SP6 yesterday around 7pm. It is an awesome playing guitar. The feel of it is great. It is really cool looking in a sneaky hot way. Trans honey blonde finish (faded). The neck is also the same finish on the back.

The body and neck are both black Korina. Very lively sound.

This guitar is going to be a lot of fun.

    Family Pic...

Congrats! I look forward to hearing how it competes with your JM6. Now that you have it in your hands, are you still planning to swap that wacky pickguard?

My Satellite is black korina as well and should be on the way in a few days. :AOK

I think I'm going to have a black pickguard made, and then decide which I like. I'll get a flat black so it doesn't stand out looking real new as the guitar is between medium and heavy relicing.. closer to medium for the most part. The back of the neck is untouched... it actually still has some of the nitro stickiness that I need to play off.

I haven't really had the chance to play it loud and proud... that will happen at band practice tonight..... it is very light! The neck is a 50's c shape.. I think that is what it said on the specs sheet. It is a touch bigger than my JM6 neck. It is very nice.... not as big as my Robin Ranger... that neck is a beast, but in a good way. I generally have no problems with necks that are anywhere between medium and pretty dang beefie... I can't stand slim necks.

First of all congrats on the new Fano! :)

This one has the leopard'esque tort guard on it, right? I personally kinda dig it, but I can see why you'd want something different. Maybe a firestripe tort guard like those on Gibby acoustics might look pretty sweet too. Regardless it'll look great no matter what. :AOK

I like it more now that I have it in person...... I just will probably have a black one made so I can dress it differently on occassion. The main thing is, it is a great sounding and playing guitar...!!!

    Thanks for the congrats!

Good idea. Different guards for different moods. :) But how it sounds/plays is most important anyway...well, okay so is looking cool too. :D

Yes Greg, you were right again! Greg should get some Fano stock for guiding me in my purchases. :AOK Also, again, props to my salesguy at Alto Phil Keller. His descriptions are right on and he really takes care of the guitars and customers there! Both purchases have been super easy! I'm using a lot of exclamation marks!!!!!!

We are about to leave for practice....

Glad to hear it's a great player!

I'm all for guitars that distinguish themselves from the rest, so I say if you dig the pickguard, keep it on. The black would definitely change the vibe a bit, but it'd still be awesome no doubt.
