I've always played Fenders, teles mostly, but thought that I'd venture into the world of Les Pauls. The bridge pup is a 498 Alnico and the neck pup is a 490. I'm not sure what that means, but they seem pretty hot and bright. It was an even 9 lbs. on my digital postal scale.

I'm getting a pretty woolly sound out of it through my Komet 60 which I think is made for humbuckers. It's wild!

Awesome guitar! Well I can tell you one thing about the pups is that the bridge has an alnico magnet.. :)

My first LP was a goldtop R7 but I just never could bond with it. I ended up with a Les Paul Special doublecut and love it.:)

I can't stand the neck on those things...my hands are small..so I thoroughly prefer a thin neck

    but they sure sound good

It's called a custom shop LP Custom with Super 400 Inlays. I'm the second owner and got a good deal on it. It didn't cost much more than an older Custom.

    Those LPs look great!

    :dude

I've never owned one either, after almost 25 years of playing I think it's high time I pick one up myself!

I started out on an Epi LP 30 years ago. In my adulthood I've been a Fender guy. Finally, after a large loop back around, I got my Gibson LP this year (two of them actually thanks to a small inheritance) and haven't looked back.

    Enjoy yours in good health.

I bought this one last week. It's a LP studio supreme plus. I've owned a few LP's over the years but this one has the chunkiest neck of any of them. I love it. It has what they call a "AAA" maple top. I like the lighter colour back also.
