I had a Black Charvel Strat Style guitar, and Ive decided to repaint it, or not repaint it.
I sanded it down, heres a picture, and I plan to put clear coat on it to give it the naturual wood finish, and put back my strat black harness on it (Pick-ups and black pick-guard).
I need tips on what paint to buy ,sanding tips, any tips at all. Also what kind of wood is this?
    Here's it sanded

Heres what I want it too look like

I also want to carve my initials on the bottom middle, then burn them in with a magnifying glass, any tips?

that looks like basswood to me. Could be alder - it's hard to tell based on those pictures.

I can't help you with the carving, but for refinishing try reranch:

there are tutorials there that will tell you how to do it and what to buy. They sell paint too.

Looks like you might want to shape a smoother curve to the "waist" shapes where it narrows in, then run a router with a bullnose over the edges to make them uniform, then sand it and finish it.

IMHO - Strats look best in a color (including Sunburst). For some reason, natural looks weird to me.
