my futura jones is..

    ...coming down on me pretty hard.

    but i only have 1k. so that rules out the gibson cs.
    y'all know anybody that might could build me one for that price?
    even just the skeleton(minus pickups,bridge,etc.?)

    How about the Reverse Flying V by Gibson, I think they even make them in Black and white also! Best of luck.

    i dont think for 1k youre going to get close to a futura; atleast a repro (which seems funny to say about a futura). if theres no rush (other than gas) why not save up another 1.5 k and talk to a newish luthier (lotsa guys doin lp repros and such on tgp) about what you want. i know... easier said then done. might be worth it in the end.

    You might very well be able to find a used Bacchus Futura in that range. It'll probably be mahogany though, but they're very high quality MIJ guitars.

    You can pick up a Hamer import Nielsen (Futura) model, but those aren't anything like a USA Hamer Futura or a Gibson Historic one.

    Maybe Warmoth, USGA ?? or Guitar Mill could cut you a body in that shape and a neck?
