Sorry, I didn't see your post. I don't think there's any anti-European sentiment going on here...Great amp from what I've read, I'm really jealous :) Can you post clips?

Sorry, we just can't take Belgians seriously here.... :D

I only know the Germino JTM45, and it was a great amp! I'm sure the Club 40 is great too! Enjoy your amp!

hey Riffmeister, I play mainly Les Pauls but i tried it with my Strat, Tele and Gretsch 6120 and they all sound killer on the amp !
I have two 4x12" Marshall cabs, one loaded with V 30's and one loaded with greenbacks, the amp sounds best on the greenback's cab.
I wonder how the amp will sound with G12H speaker's !?

I'm using a cab made by Jeff Swanson. It's basically the same size as the 2x12 combo cab that Greg Germino uses. (which is fairly large)

bert, congratulations on the Germino. I have a Classic 45 and am in love with the thing. I hope it pushes your playing the way mine has done for me.

The Club 40 will go down in amp history as a true classic. It's not simply a Marshall "clone" --- it's a unique Germino creation. He really hit a grand slam with that design. It's Belgian chocolate to my ears!!

Not that his other models arn't great also-- I can't say for sure myself, since I only own the Club 40. But I can honestly say I've had MANY trade offers.

IMHO, the Club 40 is the finest amp on the planet. In my opinion of course, but there you are. I've loved a lot of fine amps, a LOT of fine amps, nothing has ever just stopped me like the Club 40. It just has a special *thing* about it.

just the other day- actually tried the Club 40 without bridging any channels or using a Y cord. All the Marshalls I ever owned sounded WAY better when bridging the channels, so I assumed the Germino was the same way. Not so, the Germino lead channel has none of the ice pick Marshall quality, and all the bass and fullness you could ever want on tap. Plugged straight it, cranked it to between 11 and 2, and wailed on my ES335. I think I LOVE it better without bridging the channels- especially for classic tones like Cream, etc. and blues. The other channel isn't overly dark either, and more great tones can be had there too. I think the bridged channeles really works well with my strat, but the closest I have gotten to the killer tones in Germinos' clips on his web site (w/ him and Jason) are by plugging straight innto the lead channel. Still having fun checking it all out. Honeymoon far from over...

hey Roe, i like the Club 40 much better than the Z Route 66, but i guess that the Z amp that will work for me would be the Maz 38.... I saw Buddy giggin' with one last week in Brussels wth John Mayall and that sounded great....

and I would like to post pics but I don't know how to do that, maybe someone can do it for me ? i'll be glad to email some pictures...

    Bert
