I decided to turn it into a 1 channel clean amp and lined up my pedal board in front of my Gretsch Power Jet. Wow! The clean was nice and round (as it always has been) but my OCD and Crunch Box really sounded nice throught it. Plus I got 2 drive sounds. I've always been b!tchin about the drive channel but running the pedals through it make me think that maybe this has another side to other than two-channel utility knife. Anyone else have a similar experience on this one?

I have a mark IV which really gets nice tones now with 6V6 tubes installed, really amazed me that it could sound so good, I think the Lone star will run 6V6 tubes as well, you might give it a try.

I've got the Special. It runs on EL84s so I don't think the 6V6s are an option on anything but a Classic

Channel 2, drive NOT engaged, thicker, 15 watt setting, gain at about 1:00 with the master and channel volumes at noon. Mid and presence at about 11:00 with treble and bass at about 2:00. Tiny bit of reverb. Only pedal is a tuner. No footswitch.

    Perfect with an EJ strat.

The Lonestar takes pedals really well, so it's totally possible to set up one or the other channels as you like and use it as a single channel amp.

LSS with a Red Snapper turns into a three/four channel amp.
    Clean channel
    Clean channel with Red Snapper
    Drive channel
Drive channel with Red Snapper, but I haven't found anything I really liked.

My favorite amp of the last five years and I have had several favorite amps

i've found that channel 2 is better when you have the gain lower than the drive (drive at 3:00, gain at 12:30). i get a nice Dickey Betts lead type tone, and i use an ocd to put it over the top.

I have a buddy who uses a LSS with an OCD and a Strat. It just drips tone!
