    Hey,
I wanted to share my experience in purchasing a guitar from the members emporium. I have been looking for the perfect "players" strat for some time now when lo and behold I found this http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=147155. I admit that I was a bit apprehensive buying a used guitar sight unseen from someone I've never met. I have to say that this guitar just ROCKS!!! The tone is to die for. I finally realize what the MJM Blues Devil was made for. It was like SRV reincarnate. Dealing with Phil Owen was a pleasure. I'm just amazed how awesome the members here are. Thanks Phil! This site is just fantastic.....Off to go play with the newest member of my family.

You got the light blue Strat, right?

That thing is gorgeous. I wish I had a couple thousand dollars in a gear account just so I could jump on deals like that. I'm a LP guy, and that strat just looks awesome.

I got to know a small circle of people here (gkoelling above is one of them [IMG]) That I really trust and I've had a great time here collecting and selling as well. Unless I've dealt with them before Ebay is now off limits to me.......I'm cutting and running before my good luck runs out. Congrats on the new guitar and play her in the best of health! :RoCkIn

Congrats and welcome to the Frankenstrat community....I put together a 62 type (lightweight 98 Shoreline Gold 62 Fender body) with Suhr V60LP's and the new Wilky vintage trem and I swear it's tone is some of the sweetest Ive heard come out of any Strat. Toss me an email if you want to sell the aged/reliced mint 62 pickguard you took off.

Awesome. That's what I'd like in a strat. Mostly vintage specs, but with a 22nd fret. That guy did a great job on that build.

    mlavin00,

Just a suggestion. Hang on to the original pickguard. The pearl is real pretty but you may decide someday that you want a change.

Also, I know you're still in the honeymoon phase but you may want to sell it someday and there are plenty of old farts like me out there who would prefer the vintage look of the other guard.

I had a pearl guard on a 3-TS strat and after about 6-8 years it yellowed a bit too. To my eyes it softened the look a bit and was quite nice.

Again, nice guitar and enjoy playing it.

    Take Care,

    Greg

Thanks Greg. I'm having a wonderful time with this axe. Actually, I've already sold the pickguard to another forum member. The relic'd mint's just not my cup of tea.
