    Put this together so I don't have to leave my rig at my drummers house (where we practice) and for a quick and easy set up for smaller gigs....

    Or wah.

    Or it's ability to get 'Dumble' sounds. :rotflmao

    Actually I just got an HD500 and am thinking of picking up an Ethos myself someday to put in the loop. :p

    Yeah not a fan of any of the wah's so far, need to do some more tweaking...... but I use the onboard expression to control other parameters, and just keep the wah seperate.

    I actually like the wah in the POD HD, but I don't use it for this very reason. Besides, I already have the wah.

    Same reason I use a couple pedals with mine. I have 'em, so why not leave the FX slots free for other things?

    Well thought out solution, imho.

    so, you're happy with the dumble tones with the ethos and HD? I've considered that or a zendrive with mine

    birdie, ethos is a dumble in a pedal device, very well done most owners say

    What don't you like about the HD500 Looper that you prefer on the Boss?

    I have a Line 6 M9 -> Boss RC 2 looper...

    I would say that I like having drum beats, and Iam used to the RC2..

    I never gave the M9 looper a chance, but had kind of a difficult time with the timing, and switching through different tones and overdubbing. Maybe I need to give it another shot, depending on if someone said that I might benefit from it

    are you using the Ethos as a preamp and the HD for effects, or are you using the HD amp modeling in conjunction with the Ethos?

    Also, where is the Ethos in the signal chain? Effects loop or into the HD?

    thanks!

    signal chain right now is:

    Guitar>Wah>HD500>Ethos>Looper

    I wasn't using the amp sims, now I have the twin reverb sim going in conjunction with the Ethos. It thickened up the sound a bit, and its more of the tone i'm after. I also have a TRRI, and when I tried that with the Ethos, it is basically the tone I have had in my head all these years. The Twin Reverb amp sim on the HD500 w/ the Ethos is like 98% of where I want to be.....
