I sat with Bill and Joe over the weekend for over 4 hours playing all kinds of amazing amps, mods, vintage guitars. Then I plugged into this.........

As Steve Snider would say. This is the best amp I have ever heard/ played!!

And now it's mine!!! This is the best TR Clean channel I have ever heard by far! The Lead Channel is just as amazing!

About time you got one! Congrats!

Did you play the Sterling cab?? If so, how was it??

When mine arrives I'll be sure to fill you in.....

Congrats to Joe and Bill as well! I'd love to hear this particular Sig.

Oh yes I did! It was Joe's cab with tonespotters in it! Those cabs are incredibly responsive. You knock on them and the wood just sings. I am dying to hear one with real G65s in it! Which I will when mine arrives. I ordered one of those too!

Are you getting a Sterling head to go with it? I mean, with all of the success of the SLX now...$$$ no problem... ;)

Hey Dave, congrats! BTW, did you get to play the Sonic Blue '61 strat? That was my guitar for over 10 years. I finally caved and sold it to Joe recently.

Hey Les, you might want to try that color with Oxblood knobs - tres cool! I have a customer who is getting a Custom Reverb Artist package with those cosmetics this weekend.

I'm going with them on my personal amp too. Pure sex, baby!

Looks good Dave! My new Krinardopaz is an amazing amp. 3 channels of ecstasy. Runs the gamut of greatness. That looks like a sweet amp there as well!

By the way-Don't steal my lines or you too will be known as "the boy who cried amp" LOL!

    Enjoy

I haven't really played it for years. I'm really not a strat guy. I've got these instead:

    Congrat's Kirk....!

I'm loving mine too! Definitely an incredibly touch responsive amp...the clean channel with the EQ defeat just blows me away.

And just when the honeymoon is over and you think it doesn't get any better...go find an old Telefunken and RCA 12ax7, and a mullard 12AT7 and extend the honeymoon.

Scott, I'll check when I get home ... it must be the v3 reverb driver.... potentially not a tone critical location (which may be where you were headed)...I had one lying around...and Joe said "good tubes are good tubes"....so I figured what the heck.

The Telefunken and RCA were Joe's recommendations...his favorite combination, at least at one point.

Found a good Telefunken, and instead of an RCA used a NOS Ruby Silver Special....to good effect.

Kirk..this is my setup..but it's just barely noticeable nuances above how it came stock it was already so killer. Hope your having fun..I know you are. All the art/pics hanging on my office/studio wall are always askew....

    v1 Telefunken 12ax7
    v2 NOS Ruby Silver Special
    v3 Mullard 12AT7WA
    v4 Jans Phillips 12ax7WA
    v5 Jans Phillips 12ax7WA
    v6 Jans Phillips 6L6WGB
    v7 Jans Phillips 6L6WGB

I have a Jans GE 5751 to play around with as well..but I'm good for now.
