My orange 212 is killing everything it comes up against. With all of my amps. Straub Cantus, marshall jubilee, bogner shiva and tophat empexador. They all sound better through it. Standard vintage 30's. Here is what has bowed down to it.
Marshall Jubilee 412. G12-70 Supposed to be like vintage 30
    Mesa 212 vertical vintage 30's
    marshall 412 g12-75's
avatar vintage 212 with vintage 30 and g12-h30

For some reason I keep trying to convince myself my ears are deceiving me, but it hands down smokes all my past/current cabinets above.

Anyone else have the same experience? How does an orange 412 compare?

Wow that's cool. I really liked the 1x12 but never tried the 2x12. I'd go for the singe again but I need something that will fit my amp. Sweet!!!

You'd better sell that Jube, since it's been rendered worthless. ;)

Im going to call devils advocate. I had an Orange 4x12 and a Marshall 4x12, I kept the marshall.

The orange just HATES being recorded imo, and the marshall has more bite and cut, the orange is too dark to be usefull really.

The Orange 212 is definitely different tone than the 412. I played them both and the 212 has brightness and mids and the 412 is definitely darker tone and less trebly. I also played the Bogner 412 standard and a Mesa Recto 412 that day.

I bought the Orange 412 as it was the best tones I have heard out of my Engl. It works better with some amps than with others but overall, it's the best cab I have ever heard. I can see the 212 and 412, played together, complimenting each other perfectly, which I am certain is how they designed them.

Now you have to put it up against a cabinet with real speakers in it. A quad of G12C-25's RI's, real G12M Greenies, or a pair of Alnico Blues will rape a 2x12 of V30's. ;)
