I'm in process of having a guitar custom made for me to my specs.
The guitar is being built by an up and coming luthier named Jason Schroeder.
So I'd thought I'd share this wonderful expereince with everyone.
All I can say is Jason is such a pro to deal with.
    Hes work is incredible.

    The specs are:
    5A Flamed Maple top
    Black Limba Body
    Indian Rosewood neck and fingerboard
Tone Pros Adjustable stoptail and locking studs.
PRS Dragon and SD vintage rails pups
    Graphite Nut
    PRS Phase II tuners.

Here's a photo of the raw materials:

Here's a photo of the top being handcarved. No CNCing on this guitar.

The whole build process can be viewed here.

    Thanks R9,
I think once people get to play these guitars, Jason is going to be busier than he ever imagined..:D

She's a 24 fretter, solid black limba body.
No inlays on the fretboard only side markers.

    I think I'm jealous.

I really like his chopper guitar too. Interested to hear a report when you get it.

wow, I like that alot! I like the shape of the upper cutaway, distinctive but classic, a fine line that seperates many many shapes, it looks like it feels really good on a strap too, sheesh, I've got GAS again

While they look great, has anyone actually played one? Getting the neck in just right, having the neck carve feel right, etc...are all issues that seperate a guitar from a piece of furniture.

How long before he gets sued by the Big P too? What a shame that will be!

This guy is doing PS quality work for production prices!

Not al all. The cutaways are way different. And the body's got a different shape from the side. The Schroeder has a bigger "belly".
