My son came down asking me to see... this video.

Very fast! So my son wants to play this tune. I need work on my chops!

Then I post something on Hellman's channel... he was very kind to send me a nice message saying that he used to work on my AYGP when he was 20. That was nice to hear.

He suggested to get his friend dvd from Rittor music. I just ordered it.

What do you think Hellman's playing???

For me the key to playing things super fast is to slow it way down and memorize the notes piece by piece, then simply spending hours...days...months practicing to a metronome. I really think that is the only solution to playing faster.

Thanks guys! I wrote my message on his YouTube... he was very kind that he sent me very polite email. He studied my AYGP dvd to polish his chops when he was 20...that was very nice thing to hear. And he gave me some advice for fast picking for my son.

Great to hear the good times you're having with your son.
    I treasure those moments.

Didn't hear much simple lyrical blues lol

    It's a different expression .

I suggest drinking lots of coffee. :)

I think it's cool that you influenced Hellman and now he influences your son. That is how it should be!

Fifteen years from now, your son will influence Hellman's kid. You watch!

Thanks! My loves fast stuff. He can figure things out by ear. He plays more piano than guitar? My little boy (9) ...he plays really good shuffule (drums).
Thanks for your suggestion! I am gonna practice!

Thanks Scott. It is... very cool to hear that. I went to his website. It said.. he works as IT guy. He will take some time off from "Hellman" . Very sweet guy!

I was influenced by Larry Carlton. (a lot!!!). When I got email from Larry's son, Travis Carlton... saying that he digs my music, guitar playing. That was very special to me.

    Music. Love. Sharing. Inspiring!

How old is your son? How old do you think children need to be before starting to play guitar? I have two sons...one will be seven in April, the other just turned four. The four year old has expressed more interest than his older brother. Thanks

Hi John, my son is 16. I think most important thing is exposed with a lot of good music early on. So doesn't really matter when to start to play guitar to me. My 9 year old plays drums. He got really good shuffle groove right away!

My son didn't touch his guitar for a long time. His passion is on sports. Football. Thanks to Hellman! My son started to play guitar again. He already copied a part of this intro ...etc.

Hellman invited me to perform his guitar fest in Japan. He even sent other song's transcription and mp3 to my son. He made slow version too.

So play a lot of good music all the time. Blues!
