Trace builds great amps. Heard that one at Summer NAMM last year. Sounds really rock'n'roll. 8^)

Hey, pureoldsound, do you use the PPIM or an attenuator or both? I have a hotplate and was thinking that a combo of the two might work best.
Also, I am looking for this amp to cover Hendrix-y clean tones, AC/DC-ish rhythm crunch, Page's The Song Remains the Same anthemic roar and VH1 complex grind. By combining the aforementioned attenuator and master, I am hoping this amp will be perfect. Owner's opinion?

Hey Jpage, I have a PPIMV and a webber High power load dump....Speakers I use a Bob burt custom 2x12 loaded with 2 pre-rolas G12Ms 003 cone......I use the attenuator as a load and use the PPIMV....sometimes I use the attenuator a crank the the MV to10!.......However I like the PPIMV better than using the attenuator other than load.....

Normally, I dont like the cosmetics of Marshall clones, either the logo, knobs, or tolex doesnt look right. This orange amp, looks fabulous, classy, and we all know anything orange, or purple sounds better. Good luck, it looks great.

Have you gotten the V-Plex yet?

I just called Voodoo Amps and asked about a higher gain V-Plex... Trace aparently just finished one. Still single channel, but with an extra gain stage... switchable I think, but not sure until I talk with him.

If I do get one, purple tolex!

I'm very glad you guys like the newer look :) We wanted to go for a newer look that would look classy while also still retaining a cool looking vibe. The logos and knobs are custom made to our specs for us. The knobs have a space age neoprene o-ring around them that will not dry rot or crack over time. The knobs and logo are 1st cabin grade gold plated (best gold plating you can get) and it's what the really expensive sports cars use, yachts, etc.

We are also using Mercury Magnetics transformers as well. We had a very early 1968 plexi that we had come into the shop that once it was serviced it just sounded amazing, so much so we bought the amp and sent the transformer set to Mercury Magnetics to be cloned out to the "T". There are a couple interesting things on this plexi that varied a bit from countless others we've serviced and we decided to clone the rest of the circuit and offer it in our line. It comes with or without a Post Phase Inverter Master Volume (Post PI is $100.00 extra).

We have 25 watters (6V6's), 50 watters (EL34's) and 100 watters (EL34's) as well as 2x12 combos (with Celestion Greenbacks) that are available in 25 or 50 watts. Again I'm really glad you guys like the newer look - thanks for the feedback!

    Thanks again
    Trace

I think they are $1895....Well worth it if you ask me....I had mine for over a year!!!! and that's a big statement for me...I change amps like I change underwear..... :NUTS

As far as amp goes the V-plex has tamed my Gas to a reasonable level...
