Scott is a master. But I don't agree about the 6 screw vs 2 point thing . The Gotoh 510 studs are huge and the energy transfer is great. Not the same as the older 1055 or 1088.

I recently got to demo a Tyler, it is actually the first one I have ever played. Great guitar.

Nice! But holy crap on the prices these days! I miss the old price list. I think my BW Tylerbastar was about 2 grand in '06. I had dreams of a Rasta Shmear TB, but I don't see it happening.

I've played a few: great guitars.
But relative to the other superstrat booteek builders these seem to be exorbitantly priced.

    ya, the price......ouch

been keeping lookout for tylerbastars, eddie was the only place I found that had more than one

I hardly see any used ones

jim doesn't make many....I'm up to four and have been lucky. All bought without trying out first (stupid thing to do most times). All exceeded my expectations and without "buyers remorse"

    Got this yesterday....

I felt your pain this past week. Have two SE Retros, and had to have two tylerbasters. I do not love the vomit and shmear finishes, but had to have a second tylerbastar with fat 59 maple neck and there it was at eddie's guitars. Not much love seen here for the tylerbastars, hardly see them new or used for sale. Figured what the hell and got it.

Just wish they would offer stainless steel frets. I love stainless, and have had every one of mine re-fretted. Will have this one done too, but will enjoy the guitar for a while first.......

it was definitely 3K-ish in 2006 for a BW. I bought my first Tyler in 2003 and they were already in the 3's

JFT makes very few guitars so they are more expensive; but they retain their value better than most. The shop is very old school and Jim has a hand in all of them.

    Here's my Tylerbastar:

I had my Tylerbastar refretted last summer with stainless and it made a significant improvement in the feel of the guitar. My Classic is coming due a re-fret and I will get stainless there as well.

Used to own a Tyler Classic in a very Fender-y 3-color burst, with an anniversary logo on the headstock. Three single coils on a single-ply white PG.

Sold it on ebay for way less that it was worth. I wonder who has it now?

That's sweet! I wonder if it's the same color as my 07' silver anniv?
