So what's the story ?
You have a day job and a 12-year waiting list ?

There's a lot of demand for boutique AC30's:

I had one for a bit, amazing amp! It’s the “one” that got away as I sold it in a fit of insanity.

I was lucky enough to get a used one several years Ago. That amp will be THE last piece of gear i part with only because I’ll be dead.

I’m just really glad to see that @Masco is still making these amazing things, however fast or slow he makes them!!

So a few weeks back I received a response to an email thread from 2008. Apparently I emailed JMJ amps and asked to be put on the list for a JMJ-30. For those who don’t know this is a handwired version of a JMI era Vox AC-30 with all the preamps you’re could want built in. Normal, Top Boost, and an EF-86 “Brilliant” channel. I had entirely forgotten about getting on this list, but I’m so glad I did, and I’m very glad I had the spare cash lying around to pick up this amp.

Now I don’t have the appropriate cabs for this amp. I played the chassis through a Mesa recto 4x12 with the Mesa style V30s (very well broken in) and a crappy Marshall 4x12 with Vietnamese Marshall-branded Celestion speakers.

Despite not being the ideal conditions for this amp, I simply cannot believe how good this thing sounds. It has an incredible chimey clean all the way up to a very juicy, snarly hard rock tone on the EF-86 channel.

I didn’t want to keep this amp. I thought I would get it, try it out, and flip it here for a small profit. But this thing absolutely blew me away. Dynamics unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. This thing absolutely sings.

I don’t know what kind of pixie dust Matt puts in these things but I’m mainly a metal guitarist and I can’t see myself ever getting rid of this amp. For cleans through fairly heavy gain tones this amp is unbelievably good.
You are a lucky man! DON'T SELL IT! You'll regret it. I was running mine today - normal channel. just about 3/4 vol... pushed with a Gaspedal Carb (my Unicorn rig)...thru Blues...it just slays!

Bummer about the thread! Well, I played the amp for the 1st time the other night, and its as good if not better than I remember. I had a JMJ about 5 years ago, and in a fit of insanity, I let it go. I've been jonesing for it ever since. The way this amp compresses and moves with your playing, it's truly not like any other amp I've owned. Anyways, full disclosure, I'm in the honeymoon period, but I've owned enough good amps to know a great one. This is one of them.

What's up with the JMJ website? There's virtually no content on it now. https://jmjamps.com/
In any event, I am another very happy JMJ owner. It was well worth the wait. The build quality is exceptional, the features are great, and the sound is all I could hope for in an AC-30 type amp.

The chassis was around 2k, once you get a cab and speakers you're in 3k range. A truly magnificent amp though. The Vox to end all Voxes

I have number 16. I posted a WTB thread years ago after playing a buddy's 64 AC30 and got lucky. As other have said, I will never sell it. It is truly one of the best amps I have ever played. If you haven't tried channel jumping yet I highly recommend it. So many great combinations. I usually jumper the TB and normal channel through a set of 30 watt Scumnicos. As far as Vox is concerned, JMJ30 is as good as it gets. Congrats to anyone who owns one.

That JmJ 30 looks awesome. Is the ef86 channel in phase with the top boost or normal channel that you can jumper them?
Mine has all three in phase.
Beautiful! Who makes the trannies?
Mine has Mercury Magnetics
I'm curious as to how compressed you find this amp? Some of the clips sound a little compressed, but might just be the recording production.
I don't find mine to sound compressed at all. I usually run it with the power scaling wide open and it has plenty of headroom. The amp itself sounds monstrous through my Peterson 2x12 diagonal.

Here's a live clip with just a room mic. All lead work is the JMJ30. This was a first take on a new song so forgive the gratuitous noodling.
Dude, your playing sounds great! That lead work is great. I love how big the song gets during the chorus!

Thanks man I appreciate it. I wish we were still together! It was one of my better days for sure. Way back you had a clip or song of your JMJ30 that was one of the reasons I bought the JMJ30 in the first place so thank you!

Yeah, I've done a couple recordings with the amp. I did some about 5 years ago, when I had my first JMJ, then in a fit of insanity I sold it. But I got one back recently, so I'm back to recording with it.
