So my band was rehearsing at Ultrasound in NYC. They have tons of great amps there, but I find a lot of them don't seem to be maintained and they rarely blow me away. But I plugged into this original Dr. Z Prescription (not the later ES version) and I was instantly floored. The chime! The harmonics! The touch response! Other cliches! I have way too many amps and I've been playing 90% Axe-Fx lately but I had to have it. Picked it up from Gene at Ultrasound yesterday--what a nice guy by the way. Gave it a minute inspection. Gave me a free set of spare tubes--and couldn't stop playing it last night. Gene was saying it's got kind of caps and pots that they can't get anymore. Anyway, just really impressed with this little head.

Oh, while I was there, he let me try an early Trainwreck that he had there. I won't repeat what he just sold it for but whoa!

Did you buy the one in the room or a new one?
