So torn between between doing something like a Bassman/HPTT with Lou or Greg Germino - both seem to have stellar reps!
Many only experience is with the Fender Bonamassa Twin, which was a nice amp but ended up not staying…
12ax712ay7?
ha. that is so louis!12ax7
My point is if a vintage Fender was brand new they would definitely beat an RI.
Curious what you didn't like about the Bonamassa Twin?So torn between between doing something like a Bassman/HPTT with Lou or Greg Germino - both seem to have stellar reps!

That is cool! Would love to hear one in person.I don't have Lou's Bassman type Amp but I have his
Gattone. I would like to get his Bassman yet I'm very
happy with my Amp.
I like the idea of a head, as I own a bunch of tweed cabs 4x10I ordered mine as a head; but I used it specifically with Celestion Classic Lead 80’s. Probably my favorite overall speaker
Old style Gattone or a new one with reverb and tremolo?Over the last two months I picked up a gattone and a M12. Both 2nd hand And criminally inexpensive. Both freaking amazing. The transformers are huge.

i love the gattone. is there a better tribute to a guy than to name an amp of that quality after him? but if i could get the bassman too i certainly would.I don't have Lou's Bassman type Amp but I have his

Bassman sounds WAY better in these clips.
I always felt BF rules the clean world at low and medium volumes, but once you crank them up, tweeds take over.
...and yet, one of my favorite sounds is a dimed Black/Silverface Twin Reverb, a la Bloomfield, Johnny Thunders, or Steve Jones. So loud hardly anyone gets to hear it.
I am still on the lookout for someone who can make a flat out Twin sound at practice volume. Until then I'm planning on using a Fryette.
It's such an amazing rock and roll sound I'm a bit surprised someone hasn't done it yet.

Some of that is the P90 amazingness - but I've got the P90 guitars ready and waitin'
A compilation of stuff from last week's gig with the LE Bassman. I've been able to play Lou's Bassman and my old Victoria side by side for about a week now. I'm pretty attached to the Victoria but gotta say, the LE is about as close to the feel of an old Bassman as I've experienced. It's a complete joy to play. Like buttah. I'd describe it as all of the good stuff and non of the not-so-good. The gig was very lightly attended and with a mostly empty room I couldn't get away with too much volume. Where it's lightly dirty it's a TS9 with just a hint of grit, the dirtier stuff (like the LP) is a Zen Drive. In a bigger room with more people I'd probably use the Tube Screamer a little less and just let the amp do its thing. The camera is a GoPro at my knee and a little off axis but it's a pretty decent representation of the sound in the room. Folks talking in the background gives you a sense of the volume in the room.
There are a few tunes in the clip with different tones and such so skip around a bit.
I'll make some notes on the differences between the Louis Electric and my Victoria in a bit. It's a pretty dramatic difference.

Hi DiPa.Hey great vid, can you explain how you came up with the 16 ohm on Fryette to 4 ohm on Twin?
