I got raked over more than a few coals a few months ago when I posted a lukewarm review of a Mesa V:25 head that I tried and returned to the dealer. I listened to everyone's comments and did more reading and listening and took advice from quite a few people who recommended I try to find a used Mark V instead of the V:25. So I found a very good deal on a practically new Mark V for $1500 and took it. Got it in yesterday and it has way more options to play with than the mini-Mark so I thought I'd eat some crow and tell everyone thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Still love my little Rectoverb25 but there's room for both in my house. Next up on my list is another cabinet for the Mark. [IMG]

I have the full V and a mini rec The V is easier for home playing in my opinion.

The Rectoverb has a definitely rawness to it that is really nice for blues but it really needs to be a little cranked to get to the good stuff. However, the Mark has an output Master volume that is really cool. I'm still in the read the manual stage of learning on the Mark.

Nice! I almost got a V but went with the Dual Rec instead.

Congratulations! I've gone back and forth thinking about the Mark V:25 or the Mark V. When I make the move, I'll be going your route.

Congrats! I've never played an amp I enjoyed more than the Mark V (Although I still want a more marshall flavoured amp!)

I have both of those as well, and the big V definitely does low volume better than the Mini Recto.

Congrats and welcome to the club!
I've never enjoyed an amp more than the Mark V.
4 years later I'm still blown away by it.
Add in how good amp-in-a-box pedals have gotten and there's nothing it can't do.

You'll love it even more once you finally plug it into a cab and actually play through it... :p

Me too...I feel I have some 6L6 based tones covered pretty well with the Mark V, and now I want a Marshall flavored amp as well...

I'm running it through the Widebody cab I have for my Rectoverb25. Sounds great and still reading the manual. :huh
