Just picked up a used Badger 18 from a fellow TGPer. Now I need a cabinet. (This is my first amp head).
Should I get the Suhr 1x12 with the V30 or a Avatar Vintage 1x12 with a green back or a celestion gold. Mostly play classic rock, southern rock and blues at home. Only play out once in while. What would be more versatile and good for other heads moving forward. I should also go with an 8 omh cab right?:huh

Thanks in advance for the help!!!!!!!

Congrats on the Badger! Awesome amp!
Go with the matching cab. That's what I had.

I'm a V30 guy, they seem to sound great no matter what. Greenbacks I think color the sound so ymmv. If you like the greenies you could also look at the G12H30. The Gold I think of as an American speaker, I wouldn't match it with a Badger. Get the oversized 1x12 from Stone Age, you can turn it into a 2x12 later if you want.

    Don't use the Gold IMO.
I tried that amp with a Gold and it really didn't work for me. The Gold in a good 1x12 was smoked by the V30 in the Badger matching ported cab. The amp was really made to work with that cab.

I'd go with the Badger 1x12 loaded with a Warehouse Veteran 30.

+1. I believe Suhr is shipping the 1x12's with 'em now anyway

    Thanks for all the information.

Other threads showed a lot of love for the greenbacks and scumback m75 and not so much for the V30.

Still not sure on the speaker but I'm going to get the matching ported cab.

Scumback M75 is a great speaker for that amp. Another good choice is a V30.

The stock cab & speaker are great as is the Scumback. At this level, there are no wrong answers, it comes down to personal preference. I'd 1st try to decide what style cab suits you (closed, open, ported).

Definitely get the Suhr cab. The Vet 30 sounds very good in that cab. If you get one used try and put an M75 in it. That would be my first choice,

    Thanks!!!!

The search is on for a used Suhr 1x12 cab. If I can't find one, I guess its buying a new unloaded one and putting a V30 Hellatone or the Vet 30 or scumback M75. That should save a few bucks over buying a loaded one.

Check with Suhr to make sure. Just call them up. I doubt they charge a premium for loading the cab.

The new cabs are $350 unloaded and $550 loaded with a V30

I'm the proud owner of a 1x12 combo. I'm not a fan of the vintage 30, mine will have a Scumback M75 in it this weeked, along with some NOS tubes. Can't wait!

Trying to find a used Suhr Badger 1 x 12 cabinet might not be too easy. Would any closed back ported cabinet with one of the speakers discuss here get me close to the Suhr? Any suggestions????????

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the Bogner cube. I'll do some research on them.

That cab is closer to the smaller CAE 1x12, really doesn't sound like the Badger cab at all.

I bought two unloaded cabs from Indoorstorm and Vet 30's from WGS which were shipped to Indoorstorm. Dave installed 'em and sent them to me. Cost me around $425 each...
