So far I'm aware of the Freakshow Brown Rabit, and of course the BYOC Mighty Mouse.
What others are out there? Rat Clones and other Rat-ish pedals!
I'm looking for something to fill the space.

Thanks a lot LowWatt! Another transplant from HC. Just trying to get the best info I can on finding my new Dirt pedal. I've been using an Original Rat with the "tone" knob instead of a filter. It's got the best tone but it doesn't really give me any musical feedback or amplike mojo. I bought an OCD and gave that a whirl. It nailed the musical feedback like I was looking for, but just didn't cut through the mix like my Rat does.
I've been considering a Skreddy Screwdriver or a Mosferatu, but I'm curious what the favourites over here are.

Definitely not cheap, but the Landgraff Mo'D is the best Rat to my ears. The Beavis FKR is cool also, but the Mo'D has the widest useable range on the tone knob and it just sings. It also does lower gain settings really well.

Well, the Screwdriver is an amazing pedal which I highly recommend! BUT it's not a RAT pedal if that is the sound you are looking for. The SD is more like an OD with some of its own added (lovely) grit. Actually, the SD sounds great stacked with a RAT!

I've mostly used Vintage RATs (big box reissue) for the past 5-6 years and they are fantastic, but take up a lot of room. I've just ordered a CMATMOD Black Plague and have high hopes for it. That company gets nothing but rave reviews, so I feel confident....

Unless you are really picky about tone, I suspect a rat-clone from a good pedal builder that uses the LM308 chip is going to sound pretty darn comparable to old RAT pedals....maybe even better?

why don't you just get a Rat. It's not like they are overly expensive. You could get 3 for the price of a brown rabbit

Like i said earlier. I've already got an original rat. One of the first ones with a "tone" knob instead of a "filter" I love the tone, but I want something that's a little amplike too. musical feedback, overtones, you know the deal.
Unfortunately I don't have the space for two dirt pedals on my board, nor do I want two dirt pedals.

The best way to get those amplike behaviors from a Rat is to use the Rat to drive an already-hot amp, imho. That way, you get the Rat's distinctive pick chirp and fizz, but the amp provides the lower-mids body needed for feedback and decay harmonics.

Honestly, my Rat is absolutely the best feedback device I've ever used, but only with a moderately dirty amp. With a clean amp, it doesn't push back in the right places.

    Thank you!
I kinda came to that realization while daydreaming at work today. I think I'll just get a Weber Mass on my Sovtek and see how that works out. There's just too many dirt pedals out there, and to find one that's "Better" is just ridiculous.
