The new Aquapuss delay. I predict an immediate sell out followed by a wait list which seems typical these days.

:facepalm

I was much more impressed with Gibbons using Marshall Lead 12 or Gallien&Krueger ML250 than a bunch of mini amps with bloated output power ratings and reputed plus obvious problems with overheating.

I agree. One must have a weak jaw if it drops because of that thing.

Didn't Mr. Huge say they already made a better delay in the MXR Carbon Copy? I know I read an interview where he laughed at people wanting a reissue Aquapuss.

I also think I remember reading in that same interview that he said he would re-release anything if there was enough demand for it, he just didn't understand why people would want an Aqua Puss. That's why I feel like he has to have some tricks up his sleeve.

Hey, on the Lunchbox, can you switch the speaker off (and get a load) and then just use the headphone out for a recording feed? That would be way cool, silent recording with full gain available.

overheating problems have been adressed...ZT has worked on the issue and apparently fixed it...folks with said problems have got a new improved ZT...

Gibbons bought a boat load of these...

Population is getting older...cars are getting smaller...who wants to schlep a 50 pounds amp to a bar after a honest day's work?

260$ delivered...Anybody...:knitting

If you click buy on their website, you can zoom in on the back of the amp. The speaker has an on/off switch, and their is a headphone volume control, so it looks like they planned for it to be used with headphones. Note that there is also an auxiliary input. It sound pretty cool.

John...

Yes, that output with the knob near it it designed to run phones. It is active all the time, independently of whether you switch the internal speaker on or off, so it also can be used as a DI for recording.

In fact, the headphone/DI output is derived passively, right off the power amp of the LB. However, the most of the load goes away if the speaker switch is off, and nothing is connected to the external speaker jack. Also, it won't sound exactly like the output, because you don't get the acoustical filtering effects of the speaker.

But, it does work reasonably well, as the amp is designed to retain at least some of its overdrive character when the switch is off.

I could post some EQ curves to match the speaker's response when doing DI recording, if people were interested.

PS-

So check this out: a few recording guys have taken two Lunchboxes, taped them together face to face, and run them out of phase. This way. they can turn them up quite loud, but hear very little in the room. Then they pull a DI off one of the phone outputs. This can also be done with the LB cab, which even has a phase switch built in. I haven't actually tried this whole approach myself, but I will.

"most of the load goes away if the speaker switch is off, and nothing is connected to the external speaker jack"

Isn't that dangerous for the transformer since you're removing most of the load? I just want to make sure I can safely run a DI off the headphone out with the speaker switched off and no ext speaker connected for silent recording.
