I gotta hand it to the guys in Nashville. They are such a skilled, tight, professional group of musicians. And they are great to work with-they must be, if they get so many gigs and sessions! :D

So a shout-out to these guys:

    Brent Mason
    Dann Huff
    Johnny Hiland
    Brent Rowan
    Tom Bukovac
    Jerry McPherson
Steuart Smith (now with the Eagles)

And many others I'm forgetting I'm sure.

Thanks for being such an inspiration!

One of the greats, Reggie Young, is still laying em down. He actually toured with Waylon.

My wife and I spent a few days in Nashville a couple of years ago, and all we did was go see live music. The talent pool in that town is VERY, VERY deep.

Just my opinion, but unless you're a hip hop (L.A.) or jazz (NYC) artist, Nashville seems to be THE music town in america now.

Ok, after reading this thread, there's gotta be at least 40-50 guys who do a lot of sessions in Nashville.

However, there's probably a smaller group that does MOST of the major sessions.

There is a cat from Cleveland gigging around Nashville named Brian Davidson that I'll throw in the ring. Don't know if he's done any sessions or not, but he can wail. He was runner up a couple of years ago in the Guit Plyr Mag guitarist of the year. First time I met him he was about 7 yrs. olde and had every Pete Townsend lick down.

I think Brent Mason is one of the finest guitarists on the planet and not just for country. That guy can play anything!

    What has he played on?

Corenflos can be heard on the Dierks Bentley hits playing some super cool bits. Check out "Got a lot of leavin' left to do" (I think that's what it's called anyway).
