national slimline pickup help

I recently got a Republic resonator and bought a National slimline pickup to go with it. I wired in both a volume & tone pots but I get very little volume when plugged in.

any help?

Mine has plenty of output without a volume or tone pot. Maybe you need a higher value pot? What pots are you using?

500k .......the volume was still very low straight to the jack as well.......dont even start to hear it until 8 on any amp i've tried......I contacted the company i bought it from & they told me to deal with National about it.....so I sent them an e-mail. Hope it turns out o.k. that pick up was not cheap

Are you using it direct to a PA, or do you not have enough volume going into an electric guitar amp?

I use one on my National, it is low gain but your's sounds defective.

I have a slimline, it's output seems roughly equal to my Strats, not high output by any means, but not low either.
