Heard this on the radio this morning. Scant info on whose idea it is but thought I'd share anyway. Mine have been gracing the office for years.

While yours have a certain cool factor. The ones I have seen in offices over the years, pretty much across the board just scream immaturity...

You are in a serious business environment screaming that you'd rather be home watching cartoons or playing video games. And wondering why you aren't being promoted.

I am not talking about 'you' as in the OP, just what I've seen in the workplace.

Love the Hendrix ones - where did they come from?

Ever think maybe it's "promotion prevention"? If one has a job, does it well, and enjoys it, why take on the hassle and headache of higher levels?

Both of the Hendrix figures are McFarlane, the Lemme one is from Loco Ape.
A little meta joke there - Lemme was a roadie for Hendrix and one of his duties was holding up the Marshalls while Jimi uh... approached... them from the front.

Fortunately the engineering director at my division (Fortune 200 corp) is a big Star Wars geek and a gamer. His office is full of stuff. It hasn't hurt his career much, or mine, since we can discuss XBox and such.

I think the "serious business environment" needs an enema.

Dolls! These guys play with dolls. Except for the Hendrix stuff though.

That may be true in the real world, but I work in entertainment. Whenever producers are in my office the sight of Mr Hendrix typically raises smiles. Scott Gimple, the EP of The Walking Dead, gave me the Lemme figure.

Jimi also serves as a constant reminder to be creative and dedicated even when I'm just not feeling it. He did, I've got no excuse not to.

    Terrible logic here.

Got a pic of your car at work? Boat? Dog? Anything non-work related?

Gee, sir, all these pics make you seem as if you'd rather be doing something other than living your life for work.

First time I've ever see the Hendrix burning guitar version...pretty cool! Our bassist has the peace sign one at home...we even used it (and two others from his collection) in a pic for the trio, just for fun. :D

At my office, the younger guys in jeans might have dolls, er--"action figures". As you go further up the ladder, those vanish and it turns into toy boats, cars and airplanes on the desks of guys in suits.

Huge difference between a boat, or even a dog, and a GI Joe or Transformer toy...

I don't expect to see adults lining their office with things I can find in my grandkids toy chest. It's that simple. And it screams immaturity.

A little whimsy in the office? sure - but your entire Transformer collection? I don't think so...

My kids decided I needed a talking plush Daffy Duck for fathers' day. That's already hanging in my cube.

    That. Is. Awesome!

Kind of off topic - but hey I started the topic - how do you like the blender? Do you use the extra options it provides often?
