I just scored this '03 Fender MIM "Special Edition" Ash body Jazz Bass today. I got this at one of my longtime regulars. I hadn't been to this on in a while but I stopped today. He had it on the wall for $275 without case. I told him I wanted it but he knew he'd have to work on the price. I usually pay with credit card, but I said if he made me a heck of a price I'd pay in cash. When it was all said and done, I got the bass , found a case for it, threw in a $15 set of bass strings, and robbed a wide bass strap off another bass for $115 + tax. Here's the pics of the bass.

Please let me tag along next time you're trolling your regulars. That's a sweet looking bass. The price is just outrageous. What a great deal!

Make it to South Texas and be ready to hang for a week. You can ride with me on my rounds, and we'll stop at ALL pawnshops that get in our way. ;)

    ash-body mexi bass,very cool! how's the weight?

add some good pickups and some nice vintage-style threaded-rod saddles (to correct string spacing between the pickup magnets and stop them from sliding around due to gaps) and you'll have an all-around great jazz bass.

Thanks for the heads up Walter. I'm probably going to wait until the summer and then get the upgrades and issues taken care of.
