I guess this should be New Cab Night as I was unable to pick this up until late.

I have a great Germino 212 and 412, but I always end up with different 112 cabs moving through the stable as I like a 112 for grab and go jams or when space is tight.

I noticed Mojotone came out with a new 112 closed back cab with a thick front lip and angled baffle that reminded me of classic Marshall cabs. I decided to order one in Marshall trim. Mojo did a great job on this cab. 20"x16"x12" deep. Birch ply and finger joints. It is called the "Canyon". I guess for the deep low end.

Upon removing the back to load the speaker, to my surprise there was a rectangular port just below the speaker opening. Thinking this cab will have some nice low end for a 112. Unfortunately by the time I got everything loaded and wired up, the kids were in bed.

True tests will have to wait for the weekend.

Since I don't like the head to hang over the cab, hello 20" head box. I decided to load my Ceriatone 2204 JCM Lo Volt into it. I have done some rigs very similar in the past, but this speaker cab is exactly what I wanted but never quite achieved.

So this is a 50 watt M style rig in a very easy to transport package.

Some low quality phone pics.

Holy crap! This little cab sounds fantastic. The Lynchback is a nice compliment. I am amazed at the low end thump this cab has. Of course a gig is the real test and I may be taking it out this weekend for a trial run. Couldn't be happier with how this project turned out.

The size difference is almost comical

That looks great....perfect aesthetics. Bet it sounds killer. You made the right call with the cab width, I don't like when the head over hangs the cab either.
Let us know when you decide to buy another to make a mini-stack!

That's a pretty cool little setup.
Thanks!
Very cool. Do they charge reasonably for shipping? I've been wanting a 1x12 for a while.
They used FedEx but I am in NC not terribly far from Mojotone so that helps.

Not going to get another one but that would be cool. Speaking of aesthetics, the gold veins at the top and bottom were requested by me and added for an up charge. The default cab does not have them. Also, I noticed some changes to the listing for this cab on their website since I ordered mine. Specifically they mention there is a Mojo logo on the cab. Mine has no logo.

Can you throw up an iphone recording through this cab? congrats
I'll try to get one up maybe Sunday.

Sat in with a band for a few tunes last night and it sounded great. Never gonna replace a 412 but it still has that "feel" I want from a good closed back Marshall style cab that breathes.

Sat very nicely in a band mix. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out.

Might be nice for a stereo rig!

Okay I didn't actually mount this Logo as there is nothing behind the grill in the center. Also this is NOT a Germino cab, but how cool is that?

No Neo? I sure love the lack of weight of those things.

Maybe they don't work so well with Marshall style amps as they do D-style amps?

Already tried a pair of Neo Creambacks in my Germino 212 cab. They didn't stay long over the Heritage G12Ms I normally use. I'll weigh the cab, but it's quite light and there is only a 3.5lb difference between the Neo and the Lynchback.

Nice looking rigs Sirloin! What didn't you like about the Neo?

Russ
Thanks! In a head to head comparison against the G12M Heritage Greenback, the Neo sounded flat to me. Also tried a single Neo against a V30. There was just something missing. Not bad speakers at all, but not worth the weight reduction over an M type. Now compared to an H magnet speaker they might make sense since they are almost 6lbs lighter.

Just weighed the Canyon cab. It is exactly 29lbs loaded with the Lynchback.

That sounds about right - I spoke to a Celestion rep at the one and only Dallas Amp Show a few years back about them. He said the jazz guys liked the neos - rock guys not as much. Unfortunately I'm going the other way a 2555X pushing V30's in a 1960 I made.

Nice job! I'm running the Tall 20 headshells with my JTM45's and they're great.
