I always loved his feel on that song.

Like you said, this vid isn't the best sound.

That was great. It's always interesting how parts are layered to create a song.

I love Neal's playing too. Not fond of what a floyd does to your tone, but, they do work well and are fun to use

What a gig!? To learn your chops with Santana's band? At that age? Wow. Even I might be able to pull it off with those grooves ingrained in my soul and psyche.

I like his stuff. It's melodic with modern tones, and attainable. He's really just ripping over pentatonic scales, which works for me.

Neal looks so young I half expect his mum to be waiting stage side to take him home so he can be up for his grade 9 math exam;)

that man should have played his black 63 strat on all of Journey's hits. I don't think anyone ever sounded better on the neck pickup than Neal did on the original "Lights" solo. It is "THE" measuring stick for "vintage Strat neck pickup tone," IMHO.

I love NS... Journey Escape was one of the first LPs that I bought on my own and then I bought the rest of their catalog... His stuff with Santana is killer as well... Song of the Wind comes to mind off of Caravanserai...

I did NOT like the Schon brand guitars that came out in the 90's though :messedup

Do ya think there's a little Hendrix influence there? (meant in a good way).

Among a huge field of great guitar players, to me Neal stands out as one of my all time favorites. Skill, soul, passion...man it's all there, a total badass. Here he is from a few days ago at PRS Experience:
