The Damned are coming to Louisville in April. I gotta go.

I always had the first three for years nad never had The Black Album until a few years ago. In hindsight, I can't see why I never got that one as it is really great too.

This thread got me on Youtube listening to the Damned and I checked out their last record which I had not heard. It's quite good.

Fantastic band from their punk incarnation to their gothic era.

Imagine that the "same" band did this song:

this song:

and this song:

One year difference between MGE & The Black Albun which had this on it:

Pretty amazing. I actually got really into them when Strawberries came out & then went backwards (skipped the 2nd album...). One of my favorite bands.

Always great to see them get some love here at TGP. My all time favorite band, ever. Been a fan and collector since I was about 13. My avatar is their "Just Can't Be Happy Today" 45, and my user name is a combination of 2 of their songs. ;)

Been lucky enough to watch them from the side of the stage on a number of occasions, always an amazing experience.

London 2012 at The Roundhouse...pretty much a "bucket list" moment for me.

Same here. I saw the album cover and the fact that a member was named Captain Sensible, and was intrigued. Talked my mom into buying it for me lol. I was hooked the moment I listened. I literally wore that first copy out.

Some great really early footage:

Vanian certainly has calmed down a lot since those days ha.

"Just Can't Be Happy Today" is my theme song!:(;) "Under the Floor Again" has just about my favourite guitar solo on it, love the good Captain's work on that.

The Damned like XTC did a psych album under a different name in 1984.

Really good & fun album that one, soundtrack to the movie ""Give daddy The Knife, Cindy" if I recall, in "3D Color" no less!! I was in a band that did at least 3 or 4 songs of that one.

I saw them at the end of October, the 2nd night of their two night stand at Gramercy Theatre. They played two sets, for a total of well over three hours. Their setlist went back in time, album by album, from the most recent stuff until they reached "New Rose". Amazing show.

I had to miss that one, but at least I got a shirt sent to me as a consolation prize lol. They're coming back this sping...April/May, doing their biggest US tour since 1998.
